Again...orange bedroom...WHAT??? The bathroom was fine, yellow again, but just in terrible shape. And my dear, dear husband took the time to paint over the awful, oak vanity. We'll have to deal with the sink at another time. It's also awful, and chipped and stained all over, but a little more costly and time consuming than we want to commit to right now.
Master bedroom before:
And after Chris spent like 40 hours painting all 13 walls and all the trim:
Master bathroom before:
And after. One of the first rooms he painted and I couldn't be happier with both rooms!
I'll have to get the before and after for the "mother-in-law" suite at another time. I have not taken any "after" pictures yet. It's an awesome transformation so I'll have to post it soon...

Before and after...first floor bedrooms and bathroom
The two bedrooms on the first floor were actually a nice color blue and the bathroom was a great color, but the walls were just in such bad shape. The bedrooms were definitely all Americana decor...the middle picture below is the Monkey's room and the third/bottom one is Sonya's room.
We painted the bathroom a very similar color, we happened to have a sample and it looked good. We did paint the Monkey's room a green at first, but I never liked it so we painted it the pink below. Sonya's room is another type of taupe/grey. No memory of the name of course...

Before and after TV room
This was their living room. Yellow, which we found GALLONS of in the basement.
So everything that was yellow, we painted Smokey Taupe. And we took out the french doors into the dining room, moved the TV to another wall. Other than that, we'll probably just paint the trim white at some point.

Before and after...the kitchen and dining room
Not a huge difference since there isn't much wall space in the kitchen. But again, a combo of the Americana/Southwestern decor. Here are all the before:
We painted the walls an off-white. I forget the name. And changed the curtains and I painted the hardware on the cabinets. Oh, and we made sure to make a mess. My intent is to paint the trim, but who knows if that will ever happen.

The previous owners didn't have any pictures of the dining room, but here's our "after". Theirs was bright orange and had a GIANT pear in the center of the table. We painted the walls Amsterdam Blue.
Before and after pics...entryway and living room
We did a lot of work last year to get the house where it is right now - and when I say "we" I mostly mean Chris. But at this point, we've done the big stuff. Now it's just painting of the trim, probably need some new windows at some point, but nothing earth shattering, so I thought it would be good to just get all the "before" and "after" pics right now...
Here's the entryway and living room when the previous owners had it. I've probably posted these before but I might as well just do the whole house again :)
The above picture is when you first walk into the house. The previous owners had a weird combination of Americana/Southwest decor. Maybe that's why everything was bright orange or yellow.
Here's the "after" shot of that one.
We painted the walls a Weimeraner (like the dog), I know I didn't spell that right. We painted the paneling white, and the closet part, to the left, is a Smokey Taupe.
Above, here is the previous owner's entry way. Front door is to the left. If you look closely, they have two cross-stitched gnome pillows on the couch. Random.
Here's our living room/entryway/front hall after:
If you look closely, the quilt is courtesy of Grandma Shauna, and there is a stuffed dog or something from my childhood. Also courtesy of Grandma Shauna. There is a New York skyline hanging in the entryway, courtesy of Aunt Valery, and some other random stuff on the wall.

Silly conversations
Chris and Monkey talking about and showing me pictures of puppies.
Me: this is emotional blackmail
Chris: we can do it. We can take care of a puppy
Monkey: well, I guess if you two aren't going to want to take care of a dog, I can take care of it.
------------
Driving home from a birthday party
Chris: [monkey], did you have fun at the party?
Monkey: yeah, I like [little girl]. We're gonna get together soon. Go to the beach.

Staying home sick
Thursday afternoon, supposedly the school had her temperature at 102. She did wake up a few times through the night, one time included some throw up.
Friday morning: Jumping around in her room, she says: "Dada, do you know what throw up is called? PUTE."
She might be feeling better...
